The Southeast Transaction Guide provides practitioners with research tools, analysis, practice tips, checklists, and forms. This 20-volume set is broken down into five parts: business entities, estate planning, commercial transactions, real estate transactions, and personal transactions. The set contains a strong federal tax analysis with citations and practice notes applicable to the individual states.
Most of the chapters are organized as follows: Part I?Research Guide; Part II?Legal Background; Part III?Practice Guide; and Part IV?Forms. The research guide contains references to primary and secondary sources that relate to the subject matter of the chapter. Almost every chapter provides practice guide information, including questions to ask the client, documents to assemble, preliminary determinations, and a drafting guide. The forms constitute roughly half of each chapter and all of the forms include commentary.
There are three general editors: Byron Sparber reviews Florida law; Carl Cofer reviews Georgia law; Thomas Ritchie reviews Alabama law. Each general editor provides invaluable expertise with respect to the laws of their respective states.
